The Union Online Submissions
From this section you may submit a guest column, new business brief or press release directly to The Union
“Other Voices” Policy
“Other Voices” is The Union’s showcase of opinion columns written by readers, experts, and issues advocates. They may be 500 to 750 words in length, are submitted in the same way as Letters to the Editor, and are subject to the same rules. “Other Voices” also may be solicited by the editor.
The best submissions are well-written pieces that make people think or provide fresh insight into a familiar problem. We're especially interested in articles on Nevada County issues, and may accept state or Western regional topics. But feel free to offer something out of the ordinary – a topic that examines an aspect of everyday life, perhaps.
Please include a paragraph at the end describing yourself. And although it is not required, we would like to run photos of “Other Voices” authors.
Press Release - Releases should contain the dates and times of scheduled events, along with the name and telephone number of the person submitting the article. The Union reserves the right to edit all submissions. Submissions will be printed as space allows.
New Business Brief - must include the registered business name, type of business, address, contact phone number and name.
Deadlines
The newspapers welcome submissions, including photographs, to all of their departments. The deadline for submissions is noon, three days before publication.
The decision to print any submission is completely at the discretion of The Union editor.
